Inversions are one of the most crucial building blocks in the aerial language. In this workshop by Dara Minkin (AKA Aerial Design), you will be guided through the fundamentals of inverting. This workshop isn’t just for beginners, it provides useful information for instructors who want to deepen their knowledge to support their student base. Learn tips and tricks for needed mobility, deep core, back strength, and straight leg techniques. Also great for pole dancers!
Dara Minkin, also popularly known as @aerial.design on Instagram, is an aerial acrobat specializing in aerial silks. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Contemporary Dance from the University of New Mexico, and has extensive training in many dance disciplines. With 19 years of experience as a performer and 14 years teaching, Dara designed a teaching method for vertical aerial arts and published it in her book Proximal: An Introduction to Aerial Theory. She currently teaches at her school The Aerium in San Antonio, Texas and has taught for Aerial Horizon, Womack and Bowman, Vertical Fix, Radical Movement Factory, Project in Motion, Agora Arts, Frequent Flyers and more.
